专家介绍:   

   Dr Zhang obtained her Bachelor and Master degree on engineering mechanics form Tianjin University and Phd on Structural Engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 2001. She was awarded the Postgraduate certificate on Higher Education by UNSW in 2007. She worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in University of Queensland, Pohang University of Science and Technology, South Korea and the University of New South Wales before she became a lecturer in UNSW in 2005. She is now a senior lecturer in engineering in UNSW Canberra and the Civil Engineering Discipline Coordinator. She has published over 200 articles in international journals and conference with over 70 published in the top leading journals in the area of computational mechanics, composite materials and structures and construction and building materials. She has supervised 8 Phds and 1 master and 3 postdoctoral research fellows. She is the local committee/advisory/international technical committee member of over 15 international conference and has been a frequent reviewer for over 20 international journals. 
 
报告内容:    

    In this presentation, Dr.Zhang will give an introduction of the research on construction and building materials and structures in her research group. In particular she will present the recent work on the development of a new cost effective high performance Pva -ecc and the mechanical and structural behaviour of the ECC beams. The comparison of the structural behaviour of the ecc beams and the rc beam demonstrates the excellent flextural and shear behaviour. It is found that no stirrups or significantly reduced number of stirrups are needed for the ecc beams.
